Texas Tech University - Frazier Alumni Pavilion Expansion
Project Description:
To meet the growing number of Texas Tech alumni and students, the University’s Alumni Association asked JDMA Architects to design the two-story expansion to the Frazier Alumni Pavilion.
The exterior facade will maintain the Spanish Renaissance style of the existing structure and campus aesthetic, while providing additional indoor and outdoor meeting spaces. The design increased the size of the pavilion to 27,834 square feet and includes a second-story outdoor terrace with views of the campus and stadium. Elaborating on the initial design concepts, JDMA developed a flexible space providing for an impressive event area, north and south entrance vestibules, dual stair towers, an expanded catering kitchen, maintenance area, support spaces and an enhanced audio system. The second floor features an outdoor terrace that frames the campus and stadium upon arriving and is perfect for gathering on game days or social events alike. The building’s expansion will dramatically enhance the alumni's visual presence there, and continue to be a memorable part of the university’s campus.
